The City of Brighton is pleased to announce ‘Heart's Desire’ as the winner of the 2025 People's Choice voting for the Sculpture on Loan program. ‘Heart's Desire’ is a kinetic sculpture that is activated by the wind, spreading love and hope in the breeze. It has been on display for the past year at Carmichael Park and is a part of the City’s Sculpture-on-Loan program. During that time, the public is invited to vote on their favorite piece during the People’s Choice Award.
About the artist: Born in Denver, Annette Coleman was raised and still lives in Littleton. While working full time as an advertising specialist Coleman developed a unique imagery for her fine art. She is fearless and incredibly resourceful when it comes to creative challenges. Coleman enjoys creating timeless mosaics and glass-on-glass installations using tiles or stained glass that are shaped, fired, or carved.
About the City of Brighton's Sculpture on Loan Program: The Sculpture on Loan program is part of the Brighton Eye for Art Program, which includes a gallery at City Hall and the Carmichael Park Sculpture on Loan project. Sculpture on Loan offers the opportunity for sculpture artists to exhibit their larger-scale artwork in a high-visibility park setting for the period of one year. After sending out a nationwide call for artists, a selection committee scores the submissions.
Voting is now open for the 2026 People's Choice Awards.
