The Brighton Trash Bash Drop-Off Program for large-item disposal will be offered twice this year in the spring and fall. The City offers this program to City of Brighton Residents for large item disposal. Residents wishing to participate may drop off their items at the designated collection site. This service is for City of Brighton Residents only and no commercial or industrial facilities will be allowed. A City of Brighton water bill or suitable proof of residence within the City and identification such as a driver’s license are required.

Location: Brighton Wastewater Treatment Facility at 325 North Kuner Rd. (Brighton Street entrance)
Drop-off hours: 9 a.m. - 5 p.m. each day
Items not allowed:
Household trash, commercial waste, concrete/home improvement project debris, grass clippings, televisions, computers, air conditioners, freezers, microwaves, refrigerators, office electrical equipment, car bodies, smoke detectors, all liquids, paint, motor oil, pesticides, chemicals, toxic, corrosive or explosive materials, or any sealed containers with unknown contents.
*These items are not accepted without special preparations at the landfill; please contact your home trash removal company.
Examples of acceptable items:
- Furniture,
- Cabinets
- Mattresses, box springs
- Appliances (NO refrigerators or freezers)
- Bicycles
- Carpet (must be cut up)
- Doors
- Lawn/yard equipment
- Branches (please do not bundle the branches because twine/rope can get caught in the machinery we use to grind them).
- Nail-free lumber (less than 8 ft. in length)
*Small loose items must be containerized and total weight must be relative to the type of container. A suggested donation of $10 will be accepted to help defray the cost of the service. Tires will be accepted for a fee of $7 each. No oversized tires.
