City of Brighton elections are conducted every two years, in odd-numbered years, on the first Tuesday in November.

Mayor and Councilmembers are elected to four year terms. If you are interested in becoming a candidate or have questions about the election process, please contact the City Clerk’s Office at 303-655-2056.

Voter Information

Colorado Voter Registration forms can be obtained at the City Clerk's Office or by visiting the Colorado State website. You must be 18 years of age, a United States citizen and a resident of Colorado for 22 days prior to the election. Registration forms must be submitted to the appropriate County Clerk office, each of the Counties office address and phone number is listed on the back of the registration form.

Announcements

The City of Brighton is seeking candidates for each ward for City Councilmember for the November 7, 2023 Coordinated election. Nomination petitions will be available in the Office of the City Clerk at 500 South 4th Avenue from 8:00am to 5:00pm on August 8, 2023 and completed nomination petitions must be filed by 5:00pm on August 28, 2023.
