The City of Brighton’s Eye for Art program is now accepting artist submissions for its 2026 Sculpture-on-Loan Program, a year-long outdoor exhibit displayed at Carmichael Park (650 Southern Street).
This rotating public art exhibition showcases a diverse collection of sculptures, offering residents and visitors the opportunity to experience art in the heart of the community. Selected works will be featured as part of the Sculpture Walk at Carmichael Park, an initiative that enhances Brighton’s public spaces while celebrating the creativity and talent of regional artists.
The City is seeking durable, visually impactful sculptures suitable for outdoor display. Please note that pieces made from wood, plastics, bioplastics, or mosaics cannot be accepted.
Selected sculptures will be on display from January 2026 through January 2027.
Interested artists can apply at https://www.brightonco.gov/1678/Sculpture-on-Loan
Up to eight sculptures will be chosen, with each artist receiving a $500 honorarium upon installation. Additionally, one sculpture will be recognized with the “Brighton’s Choice” award of $1,000, and artworks may also be considered for purchase by the public and/or the City. To date, the program has facilitated the sale of 10 sculptures, now permanently placed throughout Brighton.
