The City of Brighton is pleased to announce it has been awarded more than $4 million in funding from the Adams County Board of Commissioners (BoCC) as part of the spring 2025 Adams County Open Space Grant cycle. The grants, made possible through the voter-approved Adams County Open Space Sales Tax, will support two major park improvement projects in Brighton: the Brighton RecPlex Phase 1 – Community Park and the Water Tower Park connectivity and parking lots enhancements.
Brighton RecPlex Phase 1 – Community Park
The first phase of Brighton’s RecPlex will deliver a vibrant new park with pickleball courts, an inclusive playground, walking paths, a concession building and picnic areas. Designed for community engagement and outdoor recreation, the park will offer green spaces, a maintenance building, and ADA-accessible infrastructure to meet diverse resident needs.
Water Tower Park connectivity and parking lots
The City of Brighton will enhance Water Tower Park with improved sidewalk and trail connections and dedicated parking to support accessibility, safety, and neighborhood connectivity. The upgrades aim to improve the visitor experience and support park use for surrounding communities.
“We are grateful to Adams County for this continued commitment to parks and open space,” said Ryan Smith, parks planning, development, and grant manager for the City of Brighton. “These grant funds are essential for helping turn projects into reality and enhancing our community’s parks and open spaces.”
