Bridge Street widening update (July 1, 2024)

(The following schedule is weather dependent and subject to change)

-Working hours will take place from Monday to Wednesday, 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. this week. There will be no project operations from Thursday through Sunday for the 4th of July holiday. Please continue to follow all traffic control devices and signage while crews are not on site. The project team wishes you safe travels over the holiday weekend. 

-Bridge Street traffic realignments will continue between 22nd and 40th Avenue this week, with operations beginning to shift from the north to the south side of the roadway. One through-lane of traffic will remain open in either direction throughout the week. Please be aware of these changes when navigating the construction zone. 

-Starting on Monday, July 1, there will be a full closure of the Village Hill Drive entrance to Eastgate Village as crews install new curb and gutter and asphalt. Access to the Eastgate Village neighborhood will remain open at Village Garden Drive. This is expected to be in place for 2-3 weeks.   

-For drivers traveling westbound on Bridge Street, there will be no left turns onto 27th Avenue. Drivers are encouraged to continue west to make a lefthand turn at 22nd Avenue.

-Speed limit reductions are in place within the project zone. Additional traffic enforcement will be patrolling the construction zone to ensure the safety of the project team and traveling public.

-Trucks and heavy equipment will continue to enter and exit the roadway within the project zone, so drivers are encouraged to slow down, watch for workers and equipment, and leave plenty of space in between vehicles. Please be mindful and exercise extreme caution when traveling through construction areas.
