The Brighton City Museum will hold an exhibit open house from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Saturday, Sept. 23, featuring artifacts on loan from a local military history collector. The exhibit, “A Century of Service- Colorado’s Citizen Soldiers and Brighton’s Historic Armory,” includes several uniforms and items issued to or carried by service members from the Civil War era to World War I. The local collector will be in attendance to answer questions about his collection from his museum — the National War Museum of the Rockies.
This event will feature members of the Colorado Military History Group (and their partial collection of historic equipment and vehicles), who will be showcasing the troops of World War II. It will also feature handleable artifacts and uniforms from the Colorado Military History Group members. This event is free to all visitors and is made possible by a generous grant from the Brighton Cultural Arts Council.
