The City of Brighton is thrilled to present a special fall edition of our Flix & Kicks series — Spooky Saturday! Join us on Saturday, Oct. 4, at 5 p.m. at Carmichael Park (650 E. Southern Street) for an evening of family-friendly fun featuring the animated film Hotel Transylvania (PG, 2012).
The pre-movie kids’ activity begins at 3:30 p.m. to get the little ones in the spooky spirit. Children are encouraged to wear costumes, adding to the Halloween-themed excitement. A food truck will be on-site to offer snacks during the event.
This free, public event welcomes all families. Attendees are encouraged to bring blankets, lawn chairs, and any other items to ensure a comfortable viewing experience.
Prior to the movie, Brighton Recreation Center (555 N 11th Avenue) will hold a Halloween Costume Exchange from noon to 4 p.m. Bring in your old costume and take home something new-to-you—all for free! New and gently used costume donations can be dropped off starting Sept. 23. This is your moment to give that once-worn ensemble a second life—and maybe score a fresh, fun look for yourself. Let's reduce waste and share some Halloween spirit.
Please ensure costumes are freshly washed or dry-cleaned, sanitized, and looking their best—no stains, odors, or damage. Condition matters, and costumes should be gently used only. Please do not bring items that are torn or missing essential parts.
