The Brighton community is encouraged to partner with Eagle View Adult Center for a week-long celebration of doing kind acts for others. From Feb. 3-7, a variety of donated items can be dropped off at Eagle View (1150 Prairie Center Parkway) on or before the date listed. Collection boxes will be available in the hall past the front desk. All items must be received for distribution by 12:30 p.m. on Friday, Feb. 7.
Monday, Feb. 3 - “Valentines of Love”
Make or buy valentines to give to local nursing home residents. Write a line of encouragement/caring and sign your name, or “From Someone Who Cares” or “From a Friend.”
Tuesday, Feb. 4 - “Help Our Schools”
Donate new school supplies such as spiral notebooks, pencils, pens, colored pencils, erasers, rulers, notebooks, three-ring binders, notebook paper, folders, book covers, crayons, etc. to be given to disadvantaged children in Brighton.
Wednesday, Feb. 5 - “Toiletries for the Homeless”
Donate new toiletry items such as hand sanitizer, soap, toothpaste, toothbrushes, deodorant, razors, lotions, lip balm, shampoo, cream rinse, etc. for the area’s unhoused population. Only full-size items will be accepted. No travel-size items will be accepted.
Thursday, Feb. 6 - “Canned Food Drive”
Bring in canned food or non-perishable dry goods for Brighton food pantries. Please check the expiration dates — no expired food, please.
Friday, Feb. 7 – Purchase Chances to Win Knitted Blanket
Chances will be sold throughout the week at the front desk. All money will benefit Volunteers of America, providers of our lunchtime meals. Drawing will be held at the end of the day. Suggested donation for tickets — $1 each.
