The City of Brighton’s Growing Grads College and Career Readiness Launch returns Wednesday, Oct. 16 from 6 – 8 p.m. at The Armory Performing Arts Center (300 Strong Street). High school juniors and seniors, parents and anyone else interested in exploring higher education options are encouraged to attend.
“We look forward to this launch each year to help prepare local students for college and their careers,” said Tawnya Russell, manager of Youth Services. “It’s a great way for them to learn about resources and get their questions answered on the spot.”
Colleges, universities, trade schools, apprenticeships and more will be in attendance. Presentations on how to pay for college, including the
Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA), and the
Colorado Application for State Financial Aid (CASFA), the state financial aid application for undocumented, Colorado ASSET students, will be available in English and Spanish. Resources will also be made available to help immigrants learn ways to pay for college. In addition, participants can learn about local scholarship opportunities.
The kickoff is free to attend. Dinner will be provided by the What Would Cheezus Do Food Truck, free of charge.
