The Brighton Youth Commission (BYC) has been named an award recipient for the 2024 National Philanthropy Day in Colorado in the Outstanding Youth Group category.
National Philanthropy Day, an annual event in Colorado, celebrates individuals, organizations, foundations, and businesses for their exceptional philanthropic and volunteer contributions in Colorado. National Philanthropy Day is the special day set aside to recognize and pay tribute to the great contributions that philanthropy — and those people in the philanthropic community — have made to our lives, our communities, and our world. Celebrations are held annually in many states across the nation.
The Brighton Youth Commission is a body of youth and adults appointed by City Council to study and investigate matters impacting youth in the City of Brighton. The BYC plans and implements projects addressing these matters.
“It is a tremendous honor to be recognized among so many wonderful youth organizations within the state of Colorado,” said Tawnya Russell, Brighton youth services manager. “I am so proud of the work the Brighton Youth Commission continues to do within our community.”
