Posted on: September 6, 2024[ARCHIVED] Bridge Street widening update (Sept. 6, 2024)
Working hours will take place from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m., Monday through Friday.
Permanent traffic realignments will continue next week on Bridge Street between 22nd and 42nd Avenue, with operations concentrated on the south side of the roadway. One through-lane of traffic will remain open in either direction throughout the week. There will be designated turn areas to for business access, with some temporary restrictions throughout the duration of work. At least one entry point will remain open for all businesses and residents along Bridge Street.
Traffic will shift slightly from its current configuration around the Bridge Street and 40th Avenue intersection starting next week. Please be aware of these changes when driving through the work zone.
Telluride Street will remain closed from Bridge Street to Longs Peak Street through next week. Drivers will be rerouted on 42nd Avenue or 19th Avenue to access the roadways north of Telluride Street. To access the Fairview Cemetery, please use Frala Court. Please see the detour map below for additional navigation details. This closure is expected to be in place 24/7 until the end of next week.
The Village Garden Drive entrance to Eastgate Village will remain closed through the week and is expected to reopen on Friday afternoon. Crews will be working on roadway repaving, curb and gutter installations and sidewalk upgrades during this time. One access point to the neighborhood will remain open at all times.
Additional localized closures may take place throughout the project corridor next week for utility work.
For drivers traveling westbound on Bridge Street, there will be no left turns onto 27th Avenue. Drivers are encouraged to continue west to make a lefthand turn at 22nd Avenue.
Speed limit reductions are in place within the project zone. Additional traffic enforcement will be patrolling the construction zone to ensure the safety of the project team and traveling public.
Trucks and heavy equipment will continue to enter and exit the roadway within the project zone, so drivers are encouraged to slow down, watch for workers and equipment, and leave plenty of space in between vehicles. Please be mindful and exercise extreme caution when traveling through construction areas.
Please note that construction will continue on Bridge Street through the school year. Parents, students, teachers and staff should allow for extra time to navigate the work zone during pick-up and drop-off hours. The project team thanks you for your continued patience.
