[ARCHIVED] Public invited to vote on Traffic Box Mural Project semifinalists

The City of Brighton is pleased to announce the 15 semifinalists for its 2024 Traffic Box Mural Project and invites the public to participate in selecting the final five pieces for permanent installation this summer. 

 Public voting is available on the city website through Sunday, April 28. The semifinalists are:  

  • Shay Guerrero, “Axolotl Alebrijes” 
  • Lily Takahashi Hoffecker, “Barr Lake” 
  • Ginka Gueorguieva, “Hearts” 
  • Megan Sether, “Dino Bones” 
  • Marissa Napoletano, “Dreams” 
  • Sam Barnum, “Bison” 
  • Daniell Ramos, “Mesoamerican Vibrancy” 
  • Meg Mothershed, “Birds of Brighton 
  • Sarah Geraci, “Groms” 
  • Scott Redmond, “Family Style” 
  • Terry McCutchen, “Only Green Means Go” 
  • Kevin Weber, “Prairie Raptors” 
  • Anduriel Widmark, “Floral Weave” 
  • Michelle Wolins, “Transformation” 
  • Steve Riecks, “The Boss” 

Earlier this year, the city issued a call for art, inviting artists to help transform traffic signal boxes into captivating public art installations across the community. Six traffic signal boxes have been strategically selected for this project, with at least one box dedicated to youth art.  

Winning artwork will be announced at the beginning of May. The art will be in place for at least two years. For more information on the project, visit the project website.
