City of Brighton City Manager Michael Martinez is pleased to announce the appointment of Chris Neves to serve as Director of Information Technology. As director, Neves will oversee technology infrastructure and security, business services, and GIS.
Neves most recently served as vice president of Information Technology for Lightning eMotors. Prior to that, he served as director of Information Technology for the City of Louisville for nearly 10 years. In that role, Neves led technical strategic planning, simplification, standardization, transformation, and innovation across all information technology infrastructure. Neves also served as the assistant director of IT and Communication Systems for the University of Colorado Boulder, Public Safety division.
Neves received his bachelor’s degree in international business and Spanish from the University of Scranton. He also earned his Certified Government Chief Information Officer (CGCIO) certification and served as the Technical Section Chair for the Colorado Municipal League for six years, working closely with staff on technical legislation and policy for the state of Colorado.
