Results for the 2023 Community Survey for Brighton are now available to the public on the City of Brighton website. Among the key findings of the survey, about three-quarters of Brighton residents provided a positive rating for their neighborhood as a place to live. Additionally, about two-thirds of respondents gave excellent or good reviews to the City as a place to live, the overall quality of life provided in Brighton, and the City as a place to raise children. 

Areas that residents rated essential or important to prioritize include the overall quality of the utility infrastructure, public safety, and the quality of the natural environment.

“We are grateful to each and every Brighton resident who provided feedback in this survey,” said Michael Martinez, Brighton City Manager. “These survey results will help the City address priorities of the community within our current and future projects.”

In early 2023, the City of Brighton contracted with the National Research Center (NRC) at Polco to conduct the National Community Survey (NCS). The City previously conducted a community survey in 2021, and prior to that, in 2014. The goal of the scientific citywide survey was to gather resident opinions on a range of community issues, from the overall quality of life to the delivery of City services and prioritization of projects. The survey period spanned from June 22 to Aug. 3. The City will use the results of this survey to assist in decision making for future City services, policies and projects.
