[ARCHIVED] Community invited to celebrate National Night Out

The community is invited to celebrate Brighton Police Department’s second annual National Night Out on Tuesday, Aug. 6. National Night Out is a community-building campaign that promotes strong police-community partnerships to make our neighborhoods safer places to live and work.

This year Brighton Police Department is inviting community members to our home base, at 3401 E. Bromley Ln., from 6 to 8 p.m. Several of our partners will be joining us including the 17th Judicial District Attorney’s Office and Platte Valley Medical Center.

Attendees will be able to enjoy free snow cones, a taco truck, face painting, music, games, an obstacle course, and more! Our vehicles and equipment will be on display, and tours of our police department will also be provided. Those who are interested in a career with Brighton Police Department are welcome to attend and learn more about our hiring process. Members of the BPD team will be available to answer any questions you may have.

“We hope to build this tradition into something our community looks forward to every August,” said Brighton Police Chief Matt Domenico. “Our city is safest when we value each other, build relationships, and work together to prevent crime. This event gives us an opportunity to have meaningful discussions and get to know our neighbors. We hope you’ll join us.”

National Night Out was introduced in August of 1984 through an already established network of law enforcement agencies, neighborhood watch groups, civic groups, state and regional crime prevention associations and volunteers across the nation. The first annual National Night Out involved 2.5 million neighbors across 400 communities in 23 states.
