Brighton Police Department is seeking help from the public to locate the male pictured, 20-year-old Luis Antonio Hernandez. Luis is wanted in connection to an assault that occurred on Aug. 31 at Benedict Park, 1735 Skeel St. in Brighton.
At approximately 12 p.m. Brighton police officers were dispatched to the park on a report of a robbery. Upon their arrival, they learned a 77-year-old ice cream truck driver had been robbed and assaulted. The victim reported being struck in the face multiple times by the suspect. The victim sustained several facial lacerations and swelling from being struck, but he was able to provide officers with a suspect and vehicle description.
After a thorough investigation, a warrant for second-degree assault against an at-risk adult has been issued for Luis’ arrest. Luis is described as a 5-foot-5, 135-pound Hispanic male with brown eyes and brown hair. The whereabouts of the suspect are currently unknown, but his last known location was in New Mexico.
