Release #24-22
October 5, 2024

The Brighton Police Department Traffic Safety Unit (TSU) is investigating a hit-and-run auto-pedestrian crash that resulted in serious injuries. Investigators are seeking help from the public to identify the suspect, who is believed to have been driving a 2000's Honda. The suspect vehicle likely has damage to the front and the driver’s side mirror.

On Oct. 4 at approximately 7:15 p.m., Brighton Police officers were dispatched to the area of North Main Street/County Road 27 and County Road 2 1/2 on reports of a pedestrian being struck by two different vehicles.

Upon arrival, officers found a 22-year-old male in the roadway with severe injuries. The preliminary investigation revealed the male was walking before being struck by the suspect vehicle. The driver fled the scene. A second driver, who did not see the male in the roadway, also struck him. The second driver remained on scene and is cooperating with police.

This investigation remains ongoing and is still in the early stages. Anyone who witnessed the crash or has additional information is asked to please call the Brighton Police Department tip line at 303-655-8740.
