Brighton Police Department is investigating a fatal crash that occurred on June 22 around 9:50 p.m. The initial investigation reveals that a 44-year-old male driving a Harley Davidson motorcycle was riding near the 1800 block of Prairie Center Parkway when he crashed into a raised concrete median, causing him to be ejected from his bike. The motorcyclist was wearing a helmet, but officers believe speed was a contributing factor.
The motorcyclist was transported to the hospital where he was pronounced deceased. His identity is being withheld pending positive identification by the coroner’s office and notification of next of kin. The Brighton Police Department Traffic Safety Unit is continuing to investigate this crash to determine if there are any additional contributing factors. Brighton Police want to remind motorcyclists to use caution, ride responsibly, and always obey traffic lights, signs, speed limits, and lane markings.
