[ARCHIVED] Brighton’s own Stephanie Hackett receives Regional Emergency Manager of the Year Award

Stephanie Hackett, the Emergency Management Coordinator for the City of Brighton and the Brighton Fire Rescue District, was awarded the Colorado Emergency Management Association (CEMA) Emergency Manager of the Year for the North Central All-Hazards Region on Feb. 14.

This award recognizes proven leadership and significant contribution in the field of emergency management. It is based on career achievement, overall contribution, local and regional coordination, and specialized projects.

Stephanie serves on a number of Colorado groups and committees, and is certified with CEMA as well as the International Association of Emergency Managers (IAEM). Stephanie is well-known throughout the emergency management community as someone who gives back to her peers by providing ongoing support, volunteering for leadership positions, and mentoring those who wish to follow in her footsteps.

Locally, Stephanie serves as a trusted advisor with the City of Brighton and Brighton Fire Rescue District by maintaining an Emergency Operation Center, assisting in disaster response, training city staff, managing the CERT volunteer program, coordinating public outreach and education, and much more.

"Emergency Manager Stephanie Hackett has been an invaluable resource to the City of Brighton for the over 11 years she has served here,” said Brighton Police Chief Matt Domenico. “Stephanie has worked tirelessly to increase the capabilities of the Brighton community in regard to emergency preparedness and response. I am personally grateful to have such a dedicated professional as part of the Brighton team and am thrilled to see her accomplishments and dedication recognized by her peers."

“Stephanie lives the value of community by ensuring our citizens and responders are ready in times of need,” said Brighton Fire Chief Brycen Garrison. “Her engagement in leadership and volunteer roles exemplifies the values that make our Brighton community truly special. It’s great to see her receive this recognition for her dedication and efforts.”
