Over the last week Brighton Police Department detectives have been hard at work investigating the shooting that occurred on March 15. Yesterday, they presented their investigation to the Colorado's 17th Judicial District Attorney's Office. Today, the District Attorney's Office announced the filing of Attempted Murder charges. "16-year-old Jayden Garcia and 17-year-old Dakarei Jackson Edwards are charged with multiple counts of Attempted Murder for their roles in a shooting that occurred at Bush Street and 9th Avenue near Innovations and Options school in Brighton on March 15, 2023. One victim was injured as a result of the shooting.

Garcia and Jackson Edwards are charged with:

First-Degree Attempted Murder (F2) (5 Counts)

Possession of a Handgun by a Juvenile (M2)"
