Yes, you may go to www.citepayusa.com to pay with your credit or debit card. You must enter the 10 digit citation number for traffic or criminal tickets. There is a 5.95% transaction fee that will be assessed by the vendor.
In some circumstances, you may avoid traveling back to Colorado for a court appearance. You will need to file a Motion for Plea by Mail, which may be found in the Forms & Guidelines page. You will need to explain your circumstances to the Judge and request to handle your plea through the mail.
If you wish to contest or fight the ticket your appearance will be required. You may file a request to appear virtually.

If you have a question about your case, you may direct it to the court clerks or raise the question at your appearance in court. The judge is not permitted by law to discuss the case prior to trial or a plea.
When you miss a court date, there are two possible outcomes.
If you have an outstanding warrant with the Brighton Municipal Court and would like to receive a new court date, you must post bond by cash or with a professional surety. There will be a $20.00 processing fee charged in addition to the bond amount, and you will be processed by the police department. You may post the bond with the court Monday – Friday from 8:00 am to 4:00 pm or the police department from 4:00 pm to 7:00 pm. The police department is also available on Saturday and Sunday from 7:00 am to 7:00 pm. Credit cards are not accepted.
You may appear as a walk-in on a scheduled court date at 8:00 am or 1:00 pm to see the judge and quash your warrant. Your warrant will remain active until you appear.
Yes, your accident report is available from the Brighton Police Department. Please contact the Police Department regarding the procedure to request this report.
You may either download the Record Request form from Forms & Guidelines or you may come to the Clerk's window and request the form. We will then provide you with the certified documents that you have requested. You must pick them up in person. We cannot mail them to you.
