Chalk Artists

Philip Bernal

Phillip Bernal is a Littleton, Colorado visual artist, former art educator, and small business owner of Imagine Murals & More LLC.  As a muralist, street chalk artist, and illustrator, his body of work demonstrates a versatility of imagery, styles, and mediums. Themes of popular culture, social media, surrealism, psychology, and nature are frequent wells of inspiration for his works. Phillip has over twenty years experience participating in street chalk art festivals and events creating award winning work. The ephemeral nature of street chalk art appeals to his philosophical nature, yet he is currently focused on establishing more public art murals and exploring spray painting techniques.

Sarah Tenorio & Damien Brownmiller

Chalk Artists | Creative Team Contracted with Little Spider Studios

Husband-and-wife team Sarah Tenorio and Damien Brownmiller bring bold color, imagination, and a whole lot of heart to Colorado’s chalk art scene. Sarah, a Brighton native, and Damien, originally from Louisiana, share a lifelong passion for art that began in childhood and evolved into careers rooted in creativity.

Sarah’s artistic background spans clay sculpture, abstract painting, calligraphy, and pastry arts — specializing in intricate cake design. Damien’s early love for drawing led him to tattooing, with a strong focus on portraiture, horror themes, and cartoons. Together, they now work as artists contracted with Little Spider Studios, where they sculpt massive foam props for theme parks and major brands like Six Flags, SeaWorld, and even Dolly Parton — all under the leadership of a close friend from high school.

Since discovering chalk art shortly after the pandemic, Sarah and Damien have made a vibrant mark on the Colorado art scene. They’ve participated in the Denver Chalk Art Festival for four consecutive years, taking home the award for Best Use of Color their first year. Their signature style is known for its “loud use of color” and out-of-the-box designs that reflect their unique blend of experience and imagination.

Beyond festivals, Sarah and Damien are passionate about sharing their love for art with others. Sarah is preparing to launch a community art program here in Brighton, aimed at inspiring both kids and adults to explore their creativity and find joy through art.

Whether working with massive sculptures or temporary chalk masterpieces, Sarah and Damien continue to learn, grow, and bring their colorful vision to life — one square at a time.
