Commander Scott Wegscheider
is originally from Kansas but grew up in the Northglenn – Thornton area. He worked as a police officer in Northglenn Colorado for 16 years; Commander Wegscheider
joined the Brighton Police Department in 1998.
Commander Wegscheider is currently responsible for Department Training, Code Enforcement, Animal Control, and the School Resource Officer Program. He serves as
the Chairman for the Use of Force Review Committee, and Internal Affairs.
Commander Wegscheider worked as a patrol officer, motorcycle officer, School Resource Officer before taking his position at Brighton PD as a Sergeant in 1998. As
a sergeant, Wegscheider worked patrol and was responsible for the Field Training Officer Program, DARE, Code Enforcement, and the Animal Control until
prior to being promoted in 2013 to Lieutenant for Support Services.
Commander Wegscheider graduated from Colorado Christian University with a bachelor's degree and later attended Colorado State University – Global graduating with
a master's degree in 2011. He enjoys outdoor activities with family and friends.
