Captain Al Sharon
began his law enforcement career in 1974 after a four year tour of duty in the U. S. Air Force. He has since served in a number of different agencies in
Colorado including almost 20 years of service with the Loveland Police Department. During his career he has been a deputy sheriff, police officer,
detective, corporal, sergeant, lieutenant, and chief of police. He joined the Brighton Police Department in 2003 as the Operations Captain and now serves
as the Captain in charge of the Support Services Division.
Captain Sharon has an associate of applied science in criminal justice from Aims Community College, a bachelor of arts in sociology from the University of
Northern Colorado, and a master of science in management from Regis University. In addition to his law enforcement duties, for the last 17 years he has
been a part time instructor in undergraduate and graduate level criminal justice courses in area colleges and universities.
Al and his wife Sue have been married for more than 38 years. They have five children and nine grandchildren. They enjoy spending time with family,
attending church, gardening, reading, old movies, camping and hiking 14ers in Colorado.
