Eagle View Adult Center offering free Medicare series for seniors


Medicare can be complicated, especially for those who are new to the coverage plans. That’s why Eagle View Adult Center is offering a free Medicare series to help seniors understand their health benefits.

All classes require advance registration. The classes as are follows:

Medicare 101 for seniors

This is an overview of Medicare. We will answer what it is, how it works, and what it covers, especially under Part A and B. You need to sign up for Medicare BEFORE you turn 65, so if you have a 65th birthday coming up, this class will be very informative!

Tuesday, Sept. 11

2 p.m. and 6:30 p.m.

Deadline: Sept. 7

Supplemental Plans

Learn about Medicare supplemental insurance that may be needed to cover gaps in Medicare Parts A and B.

Tuesday, Sept. 18

2 p.m.

Deadline: Sept. 14

Medicare Part D

Prescription drug plans and pricing change every year. This is an overview of the 2018 changes for Medicare Part D coverage.

Tuesday, Sept. 25

2 p.m. and 6:30 p.m.

Deadline: Sept. 21

Medicare Advantage Plans

How does Medicare work when you sign up for HMO plans like United Healthcare or Kaiser? Learn the advantages and disadvantages.

Tuesday, Oct. 2

2 p.m.

Deadline: Sept. 28

Medicare Saving Plans & the Extra Help Program

There is a benefit available to individuals based on income to help pay for Part B and prescription coverage. Learn how and if you qualify for this benefit!

Deadline: Oct. 5

Medicare Part D Open Enrollment

Need help enrolling in a Part D plan? Meet with a Benefits in Action Medicare Counselor to get free one-on-one assistance.

Tuesdays: Oct. 16, 23, 30

Noon – 3 p.m.

This Medicare series is provided by Benefits in Action and all the classes will be held at Eagle View Adult Center, 1150 Prairie Center Parkway. Interested seniors can register in person at the center, or by calling 303-655-2075.
