Roof Permitting Update

Roofs

Due to the recent hail storm in the area, the City of Brighton has seen an unprecedented number of roof permit applications, with a continuous increase in the number of applications daily.

We are working diligently to process roof permits as quickly as possible. We have re-assigned and added staff, who are working overtime to reach the goal of processing permits in a timely manner.

The City of Brighton has a strong permitting and inspection policy for roofing.

Roofing contractors are required to be licensed with the City, provide proof of insurance and obtain roofing permits on all roofing projects prior to any work being performed.

The City’s inspectors are trained to recognize flaws in re-roof work and identify when life safety concerns exist.

Our goal is to provide excellent customer service, while assuring our residents that the work performed on their property is completed in compliance with the manufacturer’s specification as well as the building code.

We will continue to work as quickly as possible to process your permit applications, while maintaining excellent customer service and quality safety compliance.

If you have questions, please do not hesitate to call the Roofing Hotline at 303-498-1230. Thanks for your understanding.
