Brighton City Council appointed Jack D. Bajorek City Attorney at the July 17 city council meeting. Bajorek replaces Margaret Brubaker, who recently retired after serving the city in a contract capacity for nearly 30 years. Bajorek’s first day is today.
Prior to being hired with the City of Brighton, Bajorek worked for the City of Aurora for 22 years. He also served as a law clerk for the Second Judicial District Court in Denver. Bajorek earned his bachelor’s degree from Metropolitan State University and his juris doctor degree from the University of Colorado School of Law.
Earlier this year, City Council conducted a nationwide search for an in-house city attorney. In July, City Council interviewed four finalists for the position and selected Bajorek. In Bajorek’s role as city attorney he will be responsible for providing legal oversight on matters affecting the city.
