City of Brighton City Manager Philip Rodriguez is pleased to announce the appointment of Michael Woodruff to Director of Public Works. As Director, Woodruff will oversee streets services, fleet services, and construction inspections.
Woodruff came to the City of Brighton in May 2017 as Assistant Director of Public Works and most recently served as Interim Director. Since joining the organization, Woodruff has taken on the City’s recycling program, a comprehensive fleet vehicle replacement program and conducted a day long public works boot camp program.
Woodruff has extensive experience from the front lines on up to management positions in both the public and private sector, garnering a very strong reputation in managing solid waste and recycling operations, construction inspections, snow and ice operations and more.
Prior to coming to Brighton, Woodruff served as Public Works Director for the Town of Lochbuie. Additionally, he served as a Public Sector Services Representative for Waste Management of Colorado, Public Works Director for the Town of Milliken, Public Works Operations Manager for the City of Longmont, and Environmental Services Manager/Chief Construction Inspector for the City of Thornton.
Woodruff is a past member of American Public Works Association (APWA) Colorado Board of Directors and past director of APWA Colorado Chapter Construction Inspectors Certification School. He also served as an instructor at University of Wisconsin-Madison Construction Inspection Certification Academy.
