Land Use Codes are what cities use to determine everything from where you’re allowed to build a fence to what type of business is allowed at certain locations. It is the tool the Community Development Department uses to help plan and shape Brighton. We are still in the preliminary stages of planning the code revisions, but we are very excited about the opportunity to overhaul our code. While we have many ideas in mind, such as rethinking our zoning regulations, design standards, sign code, and subdivision standards, we would love our citizens to be part of the conversation! Not only is our department hoping to create a useful and modern code, but also create something that works for the citizens, property owners, businesses, developers, and contractors. Please stay tuned for more about informational sessions and open houses coming in the near future.
