The City of Brighton has been awarded the Colorado Intergovernmental Risk Sharing Agency (CIRSA) Property/Casualty & Workers Compensation Loss Prevention Award for 2022. This honor recognizes the City's commitment to providing a safe and secure environment for its employees and the community.
The award is presented annually to active members of CIRSA, a leading provider of insurance and risk management services for municipalities and other public entities in Colorado. To receive the recognition, a municipality must demonstrate outstanding achievement in risk management across all departments, including a 100 percent or higher audit score and a loss ratio — comparison of claims vs. the contributions paid — that is equal to or less than 20 percent.

As a member-owned self-insurance pool, the Colorado Intergovernmental Risk Sharing Agency (CIRSA) has been serving Colorado municipalities and affiliated public entities since 1982. A total of more than 280 communities and public entities are members.
