The public is invited to come celebrate the opening reception of the Dia de los Muertos (Day of the Dead) Art Show at The Armory Performing Arts Center (300 Strong Street) on Friday, October 28 from 6 - 10 p.m. At the reception, visitors can see more than 70 pieces of art on exhibit from local artists.
Entertainment will include a performance by a group of Aztec dancers, followed by a DJ and poetry reading. The reception will end with a performance by Denver-based flamenco guitarist El Javi. There will also be free face painting and sugar skull decorating for all ages, alongside a taco truck with food available for purchase and free hot chocolate.
This exhibit is a collaboration with the Chicano Humanities & Arts Council with support from the Brighton Cultural Arts Commission. The exhibit will be on display through November 16.
