Brighton City Manager Michael Martinez is pleased to announce the appointment of Robin Martinez to the position of Director and CEO of the Brighton Economic Development Corporation (BEDC).
Robin has served with the City of Thornton Economic Development since 2015, most recently as the local business administrator/manager of Alliance Business Assistance Center. Prior to that role, she served as the local businesses administrator where she coordinated and managed a business service operation providing small business support.
Prior to serving the City of Thornton, Robin worked for the Brighton Economic Development Corporation for three years as the assistant director/manager of Business Retention and Expansion. From 2005 - 2012, Robin worked for the City and County of Denver, Office of Economic Development serving in various roles including business development representative, project manager, business development representative at Denver International Airport, and trainer and acting lead trainer.
“We are excited to have Robin returning to Brighton,” City Manager Martinez said. “Robin is passionate about serving and supporting businesses, developing relationships, and customizing programs and resources to meet the needs of the community and I am confident her experience will be a great asset for the Brighton community.”
Robin earned her bachelor’s degree from Metropolitan State College of Denver. She is a Certified Economic Developer by the International Economic Development Council and also served as a Certified Small Business Center Consultant. She is a fifth generation Colorado native with family roots in Brighton since the early 1900s.
