[ARCHIVED] Youth Image Summit to empower hundreds of students in November

To empower and build leadership skills among youth, Brighton Youth Services will be hosting the sixth annual Image Summit on Wednesday and Thursday, November 2 and 3 at Riverdale Regional Park (9755 Henderson Road) in Brighton. The two-day conference is for Colorado youth ages 10 - 19 who will gain leadership skills and inspiration to use their voices to impact their communities and government policy. 

The summit will feature keynote speakers (see below), engaging workshops, an opportunity to interact with elected officials from across the state, networking and more. 

“We are thrilled to bring youth together again for another year of this summit,” said Tawnya Russell, Manager of Youth Services. “We want the youth to walk away building their networks of young leaders.”

About the keynote speakers:

  • Kyle Scheele is a motivational speaker, author and champion of crazy ideas. His work has been featured in publications like Fast Company, The Washington Post, Wired and more. Over the last 12 years, Scheele has spoken to more than 350,000 audience members, blending humor and heart to inspire. Learn more about Kyle Scheele here.
  • Dr. Laymon Hicks is a youth motivational speaker, author and leadership strategist. Dr. Hicks empowers his audiences through the most powerful life principles to pursue their dreams and goals. Learn more about Dr. Laymon Hicks here.
  • Juan Bendaña is a youth speaker, author and DJ who speaks to more than 50,000 students, educators and parents across the United States and Canada every year. Through his message of engagement and action, Bendaña creates an environment that makes his audience feel inspired, influential and engaged. Learn more about Juan Bendaña here.

Register at brightonimagesummit.org. The cost to attend is $25 for students and chaperones. Registration will remain open until all available 500 spots fill up. Registering early is recommended.

There will be an informational virtual meeting on September 14 at 10 a.m. for questions about the summit, including how chaperones can bring a group to the event. For the link to the virtual meeting, click here. No RSVP is needed.
