Brighton City Council approved a resolution tonight certifying the ballot content for a special mail ballot run-off election for mayor to be held Tuesday, December 7, 2021.
In the 2021 Coordinated Election, voters elected Matt Johnston for Ward 1, Ann Taddeo for Ward 2, Jan Pawlowski for Ward 3 and Peter Padilla for Ward 4.
Since no candidate for mayor received a majority of the votes cast, per Article II, Section 3.6 of the city charter, a run-off election is required for the two candidates with the highest number of votes. Therefore, the run-off election for mayor will be between Gregory Mills and Laurie D. Lozano Maier.
Brighton’s City Clerk will mail ballots to active registered voters in Brighton by November 22, 2021. The designated voting locations for the special run-off mail ballot election are listed below:

- Brighton City Hall (500 South 4th Ave.): 24 hours; Until 7 p.m. on Election Day
- Eagle View Adult Center (1150 Prairie Center Pkwy.): Election Day from 7 a.m. - 7 p.m.
