Brighton City Council will host their annual City Barbecue from 5:30 - 8 p.m. on Thursday, July 22 at Carmichael Park (650 E. Southern Street).
Residents are encouraged to attend the event to meet City Council members, share questions and concerns and learn about projects taking place in their neighborhood. City departments, community groups and nonprofits will also be present to provide information on local projects.
As with past city barbecues, there will be live music at the event as part of the City’s summer movie and concert series, Flix & Kicks. Starting at 6 p.m., 6 Million Dollar Band, Colorado’s premiere party band offering high-energy 1980s dance hits, will perform. Additionally, there will be kids activities, including a bounce house and face painters.
This annual event also is in celebration of Brighton’s 134th birthday. The City was incorporated on July 26, 1887.
Residents are encouraged to bring picnic blankets, lawn chairs, sunscreen, bug repellent and drinking water.
The barbecue is free, while supplies last (first-come, first-served).
