The historic Brighton Buddhist Church will be featured on Rocky Mountain PBS on Thursday, May 20 at 7 p.m. as part of the "Colorado Experience" series.
The episode looks at the history and transformation of the church into the brewery that it's become today. Built in 1940 by Japanese Americans, the historic wooden structure served as a place of worship until 2005. Vacant for a decade, preservation efforts, spearheaded by a local architect, brought together business owners, municipalities, architects, developers and elected officials, transforming the Buddhist church into a 20-tap brewery that is now a beacon for Brighton’s Main Street.
