To celebrate Earth Day and the upcoming Arbor Day, the City of Brighton will be giving away free saplings and planting seeds to Brighton residents on Thursday, April 22 outside City Hall (500 S. 4th Avenue). Distribution will begin at 7:30 a.m. and will be done on a first-come, first-serve basis (while supplies last). Saplings will be 4-8 inches long and will include Ponderosa Pines, Upright Junipers and Gamble Oaks (tree form). Seeds are courtesy of local nonprofit Brighton Shares The Harvest.
Eligibility is for Brighton residents only. The City hopes the saplings and seeds serve as a reminder to protect the environment in our busy lives, including planting, upkeeping and preserving trees.
