Work to begin on South Platte Wells Transmission Pipeline Project

south-platte-wells-NF

Construction for the South Platte Wells Transmission Pipeline Project is set to begin on Monday, Jan. 25. The approximately $3.99 million project will provide a long-term, reliable infrastructure for the transfer of South Platte Wells raw water to the Reverse Osmosis Water Treatment Plant (RO Plant), provide a redundant line to supplement the existing and aging transmission line, and loop in a small section of potable water line to enhance water quality.

The project will be completed in two phases: 1) A 24-inch pipe will go up on the south side all the way to Telluride Street 2) The pipe will then come back and connect potable water lines on the eastbound or north side for improvements to the water quality and fire protection in the neighborhood.

Work will start on the west end at 5th Avenue and Bromley Lane. Traffic control plans with detour signs will be in place, alongside staff to help direct traffic. Construction will take place Mondays - Fridays, starting at 7 a.m.

The project is expected to be complete in July.

If you have any questions, contact Project Manager and Assistant Director of Utilities Brad Dallam at bdallam@brightonco.gov or 303-655-2033.
