Brighton residents will be voting on two countywide sales tax extensions at the Nov. 3 General Election. On Tuesday, Oct. 6, City Council voted to approve two resolutions to express support for 1) the permanent extension of an existing countywide sales tax for preserving open space and creating and maintaining parks and recreation facilities (Adams County Ballot Issue 1A) and 2) the permanent extension of an existing countywide sales tax used for improvements to or the building of road and bridge projects, maintaining and expanding county facilities and continuing to a share a portion of the tax revenue with cities and towns in Adams County (Adams County Ballot Issue 1B).
As part of the resolution, Council urges Brighton citizens to vote in favor of both ballot issues.
