Starting on August 19, Happy Tails Dog Park located at 1111 Judicial Center Drive will be partially closed to the public for trail improvements. During this time, about 80-percent of the park will be closed to public use. The park will be accessible through the east gate and will be open from the east fence to the shelter. The shelter and drinking fountain will remain open.
Contracted crews will be installing a soft surface trail that will loop around the pond. Currently, there is no real trail, just an informal trail that is worn into the ground by foot traffic. The informal trail gets cut off at a drainage area on the south side. The new trail will allow users to cross the drainage area.
The partial closure is expected to last up to four weeks.
