Flix & Kicks concert and movies series extended to September

flix and kicks

Due to the popularity of Flix & Kicks this summer, the City of Brighton is excited to announce it will be extending the concert and movie series to September 17. All series events are being held at Carmichael Park, located at 650 Southern Ave. Out of COVID-19-related health and safety precautions, the City has incorporated several extra measures to keep attendees safe. To allow for social distancing, the seating area is divided into individually-marked square spaces, with 10 feet between each space on all sides. A maximum of eight people from the same household are allowed in each square. Social distancing and face coverings are required for individuals over the age of 10 years old (except those who cannot medically tolerate a face covering). Hand sanitizer and face coverings are available at a sanitizing station located near check-in.

Extended Flix & Kicks Lineup:

      August 27 - Cadillac Grip at 7 p.m. (concert)

      September 3 - Poltergeist PG (1982) at 7:45 p.m. (movie)

September 10 - Ryan Chrys & The Rough Cuts at 7 p.m. (concert) **CANCELLED DUE TO WEATHER**

September 17 - Trolls World Tour at 7:45 p.m. (movie)

To help keep everyone safe, the City asks attendees to follow state social distancing guidelines for outdoor events, including:

  • Maintaining six feet of distance from those of other households

  • Washing your hands frequently, especially after touching shared surfaces

  • Wearing a face covering

  • Staying home if you’re experiencing COVID-19-like symptoms (i.e. fever, shortness of breath)

The shows are free to the public, but attendees are required to register ahead of time online since space is limited. Registration is available the Friday prior to each concert or movie. Upon arrival, attendees must check-in at the on-site check-in booth. Park restrooms will be open to the public, in addition to a porta-potty and two hand sinks in the general vicinity. Attendees are encouraged to bring blankets, lawn chairs, picnics, bug spray and other amenities. The events are subject to cancellation at any time.

This series is sponsored by the Brighton Cultural Arts Commission (BCAC), the Scientific and Cultural Facilities District (SCFD), and the City of Brighton.
