The City of Brighton encourages businesses to apply for the new Business Water and Sewer Grant. Funding for the grant comes from the federal CARES Act and provides up to $9,000 in one-time assistance for water and sewer payments to businesses that have faced significant negative financial impacts due to the COVID-19 pandemic. The grant will be applied directly as a credit on the business’ water and sewer account.

To qualify for the Business Water and Sewer Grant, you must meet the following criteria:

• Be a current City of Brighton water customer

• Be licensed and in good standing on the City sales tax (for businesses within City limits only)

• Be registered with the Colorado Secretary of State

• Demonstrate that you are experiencing financial difficulty due to the COVID-19 pandemic

These are federal funds passed through via the CARES Act and are subject to federal reporting and eligibility requirements. The deadline to submit an application is Aug. 14, 2020.
