Due to presumptive COVID-19 positive cases in Adams County announced by Tri-County Health Department on Thursday, and out of precaution to keep our employees and visitors safe, the City of Brighton will temporarily close all city buildings to the public effective Monday, March 16.

City buildings will still be open to employees and operations will continue but visitors will not be allowed in the buildings. These closures will continue through at least Sunday, March 22. This schedule is subject to change, as the city continues to evaluate information from our local and state partners.

The following buildings will be closed to the public:

  • Brighton City Hall, 500 S. 4th Ave.
  • Historic City Hall, 22 S. 4th Ave.
  • Brighton Recreation Center, 555 N. 11th Ave.
  • Eagle View Adult Center, 1150 Prairie Center Parkway
  • Armory Performing Arts Center, 300 Strong St.

The Brighton Police Department will remain open. Essential public safety services will continue and measures are in place to continue non-emergency operations.

“The health and safety of our residents and employees is our top concern,” Acting City Manager Marv Falconburg said. “While we know this will change the way we operate for the time being, we are confident that our employees will still be able to provide critical services to our residents while practicing social distancing.”

Residents may continue to contact the city by phone or email for questions or service needs or visit for online services. A list of frequently asked questions is also available at
