There will be a lot of activity happening in Brighton that’s all starting soon and we want residents to be aware of.
To start, crews will be working on 19th Ave. the week of Feb. 17 to prepare for a much bigger project that starts the following week. Starting the week of Feb. 24, Baseline (168th Ave) will be completely shut down for two ditch crossings while crews begin working to install a water pipe underneath Baseline Road (168th Ave). This pipeline will be installed between 19th Street and Tower Road. This is a very large project and will take several weeks (9-12) to complete but we anticipate all the work to be completed in July 2020.
Baseline will partially reopen in March once the ditch crossings have been completed. Detours will be marked and we highly recommend that drivers take advantage of them. Additionally, the road will have flaggers present between the hours of 8 a.m. and 5 p.m. but will be fully reopened each night and on the weekends.
We know this will cause significant traffic delays but this pipeline is critical to the long-term serviceability of the water system. The pipe will add redundancy in the event of pipe failure thus providing improvements to water quality and safety in the event of a fire.
If you have any questions or concerns about this project, please contact Redline Construction at 719-367-9749. We appreciate your patience and understanding while we complete this work.
