The Brighton Police Explorers recently competed in their yearly Law Enforcement Explorer Post Advisors Association of Colorado (LEEPAAC) conference in Gunnison, Colo. The explorers competed with 250 other explorers from Colorado, Wyoming, Arizona, and Oklahoma. The Brighton Police Department sent a fairly new team to this year’s conference. Out of the six explorers, only one had been to a conference in the past.
The team of explorers represented the police department very well. The explorers that attended were: Josh Harris, Jason Valdez, Bryan Morales, Alyssa Eckman, Trevor Kamm and Jackie Hernandez.
The team received the following award: Explorer Erick Donlucas - $1,000 scholarship; First Place-Passive Resistance; second place- High Risk Traffic Stop; second place-death investigation; third place- hazmat/ICS; third place-individual competition - female obstacle course.
Congrats to the Brighton Explorers! If you would like more information on the explorer program, visit the Brighton Explorers website.
