On Dec.3, City Council approved an update to the City of Brighton’s Land Use and Development Code. The new code is the result of significant study and engagement with our community and community leaders over the past two years.
The Land Use and Development Code plays an important role in guiding Brighton’s future growth and creates a framework to help improve Brighton’s quality of life. It serves as the primary tool to establish the Be Brighton Comprehensive Plan, and its impact will be accomplished over a long period of time.
The new code will become effective Jan. 1, 2020. To access the new Land Use and Development Code or review the Be Brighton Comprehensive Plan, please visit https://www.brightonco.gov/363/Land-Use-Development-Code.
In the months to come, staff will provide additional informational materials and update the development application fees to align with new code procedures.
If you have any questions about the update to the code, please contact the Brighton Planning Division at 303-655-2059.
