Eagle View Adult Center hosting annual class showcase Aug. 23

The Eagle View Adult Center offers more than 40 different classes for adults 55 years of age and older.  To give its visitors the opportunity to learn more about the classes being offered this fall, Eagle View will host its annual “Back to School” Class Showcase from 9-11 a.m. Friday, Aug. 23, at 1150 Prairie Center Parkway. This event is free to attend. 

The class showcase will feature class exhibits and class demonstrations. Guests can also enjoy some light breakfast refreshments and be entered for giveaways!  Attendees can talk to more than 40 class instructors about their upcoming classes and try fitness classes for free during 15-minute mini-sessions. Fitness class demonstrations currently scheduled will be Tai Chi, Square Dancing, Line Dancing, Light Weight, Zumba Gold and Nordic Walking.   

Classes and programs that will have information available and instructors onsite to answer questions will include:  

  • AARP Driver Safety & Car Safety Technology    

  • Bridge Lessons

  • Book Club

  • Balance Class

  • Chair Yoga

  • Fit Ball

  • Genealogy

  • Greeting Cards

  • iPhone/iPad classes

  • Indian Cooking 

  • Medicare 

  • Nordic Walking 

  • Oil and Acrylic Painting 

  • Quilting 

  • Tai Chi 

  • Watercolor Painting 

  • Wellness programs 

  • Wood Carving 

  • Yoga 

  • and many more

EVAC’s September and October class registration will open at 8 a.m. on Friday, Aug. 30.

ABOUT EVAC

The Eagle View Adult Center is dedicated to the overall social, educational, outreach, and wellness needs of seniors and active adults in Brighton and the surrounding area. In addition to classes the center offers day trips, special events, educational programs, VOA lunch program, a wellness clinic, support groups, outreach and referral, Medicare counseling and volunteer opportunities.
