The annual Cemetery Walk is returning to Elmwood Cemetery this fall and the city is looking for volunteers to help make this year’s event a success. This year’s Cemetery Walk will be from 1-3:30 p.m. on Saturday, Oct. 5 but volunteers are asked to arrive by no later than 12:30 p.m. so the event can start on time.
Each year, this event gives residents a peek into the lives of Brighton’s various city leaders, farmers, pioneers and soldiers buried in the cemetery – all of whom have a story to be shared.
Cemetery staff is looking for people who are interested in playing the role of past Brighton residents as well as hosts to help navigate people to where the actors are staged. There are no age restrictions for volunteers.
There will be a meeting for volunteers on Wednesday, Aug. 14 at 5 p.m. at Elmwood Cemetery, 14800 Old, Brighton Rd. If you are interested in playing a role, but unable to attend the meeting on Aug. 14 please contact Elmwood Cemetery at 303-655-2060 by not later than Sept. 5.
