ARTfest, Brighton’s community art show, will be May 16 - July 8 at the Armory Performing Arts Center, 300 Strong Street. Local artists who want to showcase their artwork may now enter through Monday, May 13. This year’s theme is “Summer oldies but goodies.”
Entries will be accepted on a first-come, first-served basis until the show is full and each artist will be limited to two pieces. Work must be appropriately framed and wired for wall mounting. The following artwork will not be accepted:
- Clip-framed work
- Saw tooth hangers
- Pieces larger than 48”x60”
- Piece weighing more than 50 pounds
Interested artists can download an entry form at www.brightoncoarts.org. There is a $5 entry fee for all artists. Artists can drop off applications and payment to the Office of Arts and Culture located on the first floor of Historic City Hall, 22 S. 4th Ave.
Artists participating must deliver their work to the Armory on May 14 between 3-6 p.m. and all work must be picked up on July 9 between 4-6 p.m. Please attach a label with your name, phone number and name of art piece on the back.
ARTfest volunteers have the right to refuse artwork based on size and family-friendly matter. If you’re interested in helping to hang the artwork on May 15 from 9 a.m. - noon, call Sandy at 303-659-5440.
The show is sponsored by the Brighton Cultural Arts Commission and the Armory Performing Arts Center. Partial funding is also provided by the Scientific and Cultural Facilities District.
